The title may be a slight exaggeration. I had a lot of scraps left over from various projects so I decided to make wine bottle balancers and cell phone stands for Christmas presents. The blanks were made from oak, cherry, walnut and mahogany. The finish was two coats of satin Arm-R-Seal and a clear coat of Briwax. A fun fast project. People are always surprised to see the bottles balanced and steady.

I’ve always liked wine bottle balancers because they are such an efficient use of materials. So simple, and they look so improbable that first-time lookers always do a double-take. Nice job! The color/grain selections and finish make them look like anything but a “fast project!”
