Woodsmith Fold-down Dovetail Station

This is a direct copy of the plans for the current season of Woodsmith magazine. As you can see, it fits very well behind my mortiser and drill press when folded down. Was easy to make and functional. The only thing I would change is to use a sturdier hinge for the platform to the wall mount (see last picture). It jiggles a lit bit when pushed. I may go ahead and replace it. The other hinge is fine. Overall it is very sturdy and supportive. Space to set down the router is provided as well. Made of 3/4” Baltic Birch, with the exception of the hinge block, which is maple. Plans here.

I hadn’t seen that before. I was trying to think of where I can put my jig and that helps a lot. Thanks.

I watched them build this on the show and think it’s a great idea. I can see lots of other applications for it besides just a dovetail jig, too.
