This is a Murphy bed that I call the Manhattan Murphy Bed. I called it that because Manhattan was the place I sent the first one. What I did different on this style is I made the verticals 2 1/4” thick instead of the normal 3/4” thick. I also shortened the header form 2 3/4” to 2 1/4”. After adding the 2 1/4” base molding it have a perfect 2 1/4” frame around the entire murphy bed.
This one was competed in December 2015 using maple plywood and poplar. More info on this see the Manhattan Murphy Bed page.
