Mahogany Top Vanity

I made this vanity for my wife’s dressing room which I built to free up some bedroom closet space for my meager wardrobe.

The vanity top is African mahogany and is mounted on a white painted pine base. This helped to keep the price down but also this style (white painted furniture with natural top) is very popular in these parts. The three drawers are sufficient to house / hide all of the smaller bits of make-up and other things that Christine uses to apply her warpaint on a daily basis. The lower shelf provides additional stability and is handy for storing her larger jewelry boxes.

This is nice piece and the top is gorgeous. I have never had the opportunity to work with African mahogany but it is a beautiful wood. If Christine is anything like my wife her dressing room is at least 3x the size of yours. And I am sure that her closet space far exceeds that of yours. :)
