this was my first foray into the joy of making a corner cabinet. It was a total PITA but turned out ok. My wife insisted on wanting one for our dining room and threatened to buy one for 2.5k if I didn’t build it so I bit the bullet and forged ahead. The deal was that I would build it and she would varnish it. Unfortunately she tood 16 months to accomplish this so the glass doors I built for the top unit are a bit out of kilter even though the wood was very seasoned. I am going to try a couple of things to try and recover them, but short of that working, I will have to rebuild the doors…arggghhhhhhh!!!!! I can say with a high degree of confidence this is the first and probably the last corner cabinet I will be making. I will say the most fun I had on the whole project was the face frame for the drawer and matching the grain after ripping, cross cutting and regluing it back together. The seamless results were quite gratifying.

JP I think it looks great, really looks a lot like the one I built a while back, I would give it the big thumbs up.

Your corner cabinet turned out great. I really like the way you did the drawer front from the same piece as the top rail. Nice attention to detail.

jpfrog: I know exactly what you mean. I built one. Have no compulsion to build another though I did learn a lot.

A beautiful piece for much less than buying it at the store.
