I made a couple of edge grain walnut cutting boards for a United Way silent auction fundraiser.
As you can tell, I did one glue up and then split it into two boards.
I made these out of some walnut cut-offs I bought from my lumber supplier when I lived in Florida, so I get points for clearing out “sale” lumber for the first time ever.
Each board has one flat side for cutting and then a side for serving. They each have a groove for knife to sit on the serving side and one has recessions for two serving bowls to sit.
I changed other details like the corner radius and the edge profiles just to make them a little different.
They’re finished in mineral oil.

Nice looking boards. They should do well at the fundraiser.
