Here is the nearly finished piece. I still want to add LED back lights, i also still have to mount the cross to the back ground. I will use althread and nuts to off set it a inch from the bottom, and 3" from the top.
Thanks. If the wood was dried, I would have used mortise and tenon to join the cross, but I have a 4' piece left, in a couple years, I can redo it if it needs it. After the wood dries.
My pastor asked me to build it. So it only matters what he thinks. And since there are only 15 people so far in this church, I dont think there will be many people to complain about it.
Is it a pulpit or being used as an accent piece? Either way, it is very nice. As an inactive pastor and speaking from experience, someone will find fault somewhere along the line.
