A lady that my wife works with gave me a picture from a magazine of a table that she wanted for an island for the kitchen. I came up with this which she was very pleased with.

For the stain it was a very light color, the wood is white oak and she wanted me to try to match her floor the best I could. She was wanting a shiny top so I used a gloss poly finish, not the wipe-on but the one you use a brush with. I like to use a foam brush when I am putting on poly, it goes on good and when you are done just throw the brush away. I put on 5 coats and handed rubbed between each coat with 400 grit.

Thanks for all the comments.
