This small item is based on one of my previous projects .
This was built for a friend who liked the original postament, but wished for something lower, so it could be used as a lap table (for having a dinner on the couch). It has the same 10 degree bevels, dovetailed joinery and “integrated” handles :)

Made out of single board of white oak ~8ft x 7” x 1”.
Well, actually I needed 3 boards because I made 3 items… and now I have a feeling that they might not be the last ones.

Maybe it is a bit heavy for a lap table, but it adds stability. It is also strong enough to be used as a step stool (it looks and feels solid when 100kg steps on it), or as a small bench for kids.

I like this dovetail joint with this curved half circle shape.

Ditto what Ivan said about the dovetails & handles. It is an excellent design with the 10 degree angle and I’m saving it to my favorites.
