Made from ash, these boxes are going to different places as gifts. I have a series of videos on building them and one more to put together. I am pretty pleased with how they turned out. I like my last minute decision to add the walnut lift for the lids and how the grain wraps each box. The biggest problem was the hinges. I installed them all before finishing and then removed them to apply the finish. When I put them back on I found there were variations in the hole placement and sizes of the hinge. This caused binding and some of the lids would not close so I had to undo all the screws and move them around from box to box to get everything to work right again. I did a finish of warm BLO and bees wax and they are sitting and drying yet. I had fun doing it but I am glad it is off my plate now and I can move on to other projects on the go. I am getting more fond of the wood off the plane instead of sanded too. It leaves the wood much nicer.
