In Hawaii if you think volcano, you have to learn the story of Pele, not a character that you want to mess with! She’s red hot and so is this wood.
This wood is narra. I’ve been told that it is highly prized in the Philippines, which wouldn’t surprise me. It has a wonderful aroma, almost like a rosewood, and enough oil that it just shines once you joint it.
This is a box of drawers. I made to show off that piece of wood that I cut up for the drawer fronts.

Beautiful wood selection! Narra is from Australia I believe. I’ve done one or two boxes with it and it is a very easy wood to use and finishes ver well, as you have shown. I like the wooden pulls. They blend in but still have a little contrast to the drawer-front.
Well done!

Nice to see you made the drawers from one board with perfect grain match..It’s that attention to detail which sets the great from the ordinary !! Great job.

Beautiful…Will you marry me?
Kidding
Both of these new posts are great.
They are nicely nicely balanced, you obviously have an eye for the beauty of the figure in the woods that you choose.
Welcome to a great community.
