We had beautiful weather last weekend… it rained all day Saturday. Since yard work was out of the question, I went to my scrap pile and and built this tissue box. It’s Red Oak, stained Mahogany, and four coats of Shellac. Turned out nice, but I had problem with my corner miter. I’m not sure if it was a problem during the glue up or imperfect 45 degree cuts. Anyway, to correct it I decided to put the same 45 degree chamfer that was on the top to each of the corners. From the side it almost give it a raised panel look. Next time I may try finger joints. Regardless, it was a good weekend in the shop. BTW… the heavy Oak stays put when pulling tissues out.
