Nice shop-made screwdriver. I’ve recently made two of them (without the ferrules). Where did you get your bit folder? I got mine from Lee valley.

Does any one know where we can find a ferrule to match the chrome shank?

Very nice! I think custom tool handles are one of the big reasons I’d love to own a lathe.

Allot of what I use I pick up either from Home Depot, Lowes I usually take a brass 3/4” nipple cut it then attach it to the wood. I get the holders from old screwdrivers that have been discarded. But I need to confess that I did destroy new Erwin screw drivers for this and another for parts and to get a personal touch from turning.

Hi David,

LV sells the bit holder for just $2.6 each (for 5 +): http://tinyurl.com/nzdtzg

I wonder if we may find the chrome ferrule (pipe) t match the shank.

you can use brass pipe or copper pipe for ferrules or like David said use a brass nipple and turn it on the lathe on the piece and use a file to shape it.

Thanks Chuck I’ll haft to go there and get some and yes I would like to find some chrome to match the bit holder. Mike I use the nipple because it is usually thicker and looks better.
