I have been experimenting with making some boxes. I have been doing more shop building than shop working and need to get “chops” back. This one is made from an ash tree I took down several years ago and made a guitar out of. I also made the “Spidey box” for my son from this ash. This box has floating maple panels I saved from the fire wood pile and book matched (there is a video “Saved from the fire” on it). I think this one is going to my Dad on his 91st birthday at the end of the month. I used BLO and bees wax for the finish, applied warm. In about a week when it is nice and dry I will add a coat of paste wax.
