First Drunken Cutting board I have made, thanks to LJ Peter Brown for his brief how to http://lumberjocks.com/projects/164186. Also the firs time I have added finger grooves, pleased with how they turned out.
Made w/ hard maple and walnut, measurements 18 in long, 12 inch wide and 1 1/2 inch depth
Finished multiple coats of mineral oil
Next Board think I will try thin strip of cherry between the checkers.

Looks good to me. I second the cherry strips – it adds a little pop to the boards.

Nice job. They are fun to make. You can check mine out in my gallery. I made one with padauk, one with purpleheart and one with walnut strips. The padauk is by far my favorite. The purpleheart was too hard to manipulate and the walnut you have to be right up close to see it.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Man I don’t know how you guys do it. When I get drunk and go into the shop, some disastrous things happen, I’m afraid I will lose a finger or two. Nice work all the same.
Have your say...
