I actually consider this project a failure but it is complete. The colors of the clay didn’t turn out as brightly as I had hoped they would, and the sparkles in the ribbon disappeared. Both ends of the ribbon broke off at separate times and had to be glued back on. This is made from two layers of 1/8” aromatic cedar and is very small, only 2” in size. It was a test run/prototype for some ornament ideas I have. The next ones will be quite a bit bigger and made of some more forgiving wood.

The art is just clip art and Photoshop brushes.

At 2 inches across that is a lot of fine detail scrolling. To keep the pieces from breaking you could laminate different layers going different locations.

They broke during finishing/sanding. I guess I used too heavy of a hand to sand and lay in the clay. lol

I really like the unpainted version, Sioranth!

Thanks! It’s actually polymer clay inlay, not painted. :) It didn’t turn out the way I wanted so I actually like the “before” one better, too. lol
