I had some cedar logs outside the shop and a free afternoon this past weekend, and this was the result. This bowl is about 5 in high and 9 inches across. I used a green epoxy inlay in the voids of the cedar, then finished it with BLO and a waterbased clear finish, then waxed it. It’s definately not the prettiest shape but it was fun being at the lathe.

Very nice bowl. I like the colored epoxy. It gives it a little something extra.
Keep it up.

Well done. The dark red of the cedar and the green epoxy are a nice contrast.

PGreene,
Nice looking bowl! I don’t see anything wrong with the shape at all, looks great to me. Very pretty grain effect with the cedar and coloring as well. I think you Turned out a great bowl. I’m gonna start looking around my shop for some of that cedar, pretty sure I aint got any though-LOL. Congratulations again on an excellent job!
Sincerely,
Ken McGinnis
