This is a small hallway table I built for my wife. It is one of her anniversary presents. Granted a little early but nevertheless still for her. I made it out of spotted maple and cherry all the wood has been curing for at least 19 year. At least that is what I am told by the small lumber yard I go to hand select pieces for my projects. The project was built over the last few months working on it when I had time. I used the heck our of my #5 Stanley however the rest of my hand planes got a few cuts in too. The most difficult part probably was the creation of the legs as they are two pieces flattened then glued together. I am very happy with the maple top.

To finish I used Tung oil (3 coats) and then 3+ coats of Renaissance Wax. Cheers.

Thank you Jim. All my projects (except where specifically stated) are made with the stuff most folks would walk away from using. The spotted maple top is actually two separate pieces and was a little challenging to match up until I planed them both at the same time.
