I built this shelf as a first step to building the bookcase that matches. The basic idea behind the Cd shelf was to make something on a small scale so that I could later make it happen on a larger scale. The shelf is constructed of 23/32 BC pine plywood for the side and shelves, with 11/32 BC pine for the back. I used a dado cut on the sides to make the unit nice and solid, not necessary for this project but I learned a lot about how to make dadoes. Some simple screen molding covers the ends of the plywood.

The design I stole from my father because he and I made two large DVD shelf about 4 years ago. It’s nice to have this done, we are getting closer and closer to organizing the house.

Looks like a good job to me. I made one in high school for records, then I had to add a shelf for cassettes.
