In wood shop I made a cutting board from scarp piece. I started by gathering scrap up and jointing them so I could rip them down to around the same size. Then after that I glued the pieces together and let it dry overnight in a clamp. The next day I planed it to the same size. Next I cut it even on the mitre saw. Then I routed the edges. Next I sanded it then put butchers block to protect the wood.
