Beer Olympics Trophy

A knucklehead that I know asked me to “help” him make a trophy for him and his friends to hand down year after year. Beer Olympics? I have no idea. What ever.

Anyway, by “help” I knew he was asking me to make it for him and I wanted to play with my new lather anyway. I have so much to learn, this was a good chance to practice.

My idea was a simple base with a “red solo cup” on top, along with a couple of beer bottles and a ping pong ball. The bottle and the ball are attached with tenons. I used cherry scraps.

This morning I decided to throw a couple of magnets on it so I could attach some bottle caps, which was a quick win. I added black felt to the bottom and applied a few coats of Arm-r-seal.

I don’t want to talk about the last picture. I will, however, say that my second solo cup went a lot quicker.

Great build. You just need to add a plaque to the front stating what the Trophy is for

Beer Olympics , Now that is one I might be able to Qualify for.
And it is kind of funny how “Can you help me make this” So often turns into you just make it all yourself.

Well, considering the kid has no tools, no materials and no experience in building anything … I got a kick out of the question.

I like that !! I know quite a few knuckleheads that could be deserving of a trophy like that.
