I had many species of old door jambs available and wanted to come up with a way to use them up. The solution was to rip them down and create a chevron style table top. This was my first attempt and required a lot more work with the sander than I anticipated. I used red oak for the legs and trim. The top and lower shelf are a combination of walnut, hickory, maple, red oak, and cherry. I finished it with a Spanish oak stain and a few coats of water based poly. My wife liked the design enough to request a matching TV stand…which is in process.

Very nice! I love to see old material repurposed into something cool.
