I was in our local Rockler a while back and they had some canarywood on sale. On the top was this gorgeous multi-colored piece that I could not walk out without.

Not having any idea of what I would do with it, it sat in the shop next to my workbench where I would look at it every day. I wanted to maximize the grain pattern and show off the colors in the wood.

Razor sets and pens seemed to be the best solution for this wood. As always, if I can make one, I can make two with half as much more work so today I completed the razor sets. One has the shaving brush, the other doesn’t. I did that on purpose after I messed up the second shaving brush.

These are turned on the lathe and finished with a CA finish. 24 coats of CA in total.

Tomorrow, I will make some pens with more of the same wood and see how they turn out.

They look great! They would definitely be a pleasure to have in any bathroom!
