Looks functional to me, next time you mat wish to use an old creosote tie to add that special ambiance to to room.

I just sold some slabs to a guy who makes these BUT he buys his spikes cut, tapped, and drilled for a machine bolt ($8 each) off the ‘net. Your design is better and a lot cheaper to do.
