Thanks to all who made me feel welcome. I thought I’d post one of my latest projects that I made for my dear mother. I thought it special that I cut the tree, ran the sawmill, and made the piece, so I really made it from scratch :)
What you see are 2 plans that I had. I started out with the huntboard first, and then took the scroll pattern from a buffet and sized it to the huntboard to match.
The piece is made from cherry but the camera was filming in “blue” for some reason…..
I know it don’t compare to most of the work on here, but I figured I’d post it anyway.

Dang! It looks great to me! ...and the blue comes from the open window and natural sunlight.

You’re right, it does not compare to most of the work here. It’s a heck of a lot better!
Beautiful work!

It is a truly beautiful piece of work. I recently acquired some cherry and I can only hope I can come up with something that looks this good. What steps did you take to finish it? Well done. -SST

Don’t sell yourself short. We all can see something in our work that didn’t turn out the way we thought or wanted, but that doesn’t make the quality worse. Just keep striving to do the next project better and enjoy it. Looks beautiful to me. Looking forward to more.
