I made this end table out of pallet wood for the top. The legs are Douglas fir 4×4s. This was my first project, so it’s certainly not perfect. Life would have been so much easier if I had had a jointer. I didn’t go by any specific plans or drawings, i just looked at a few pictures and came up with the design as i went. My full time job is and electrician, currently a second year apprentice. So i thought i would try to incorporate a receptacle into the table. I just used a 8’ replacement cord to go into my box, i wanted something with a more finished and professional look, rather than buying cord and putting an ugly cap in it. I cut a channel in one of the legs and ran the wire down it, then at the bottom i drilled a hole through and brought the wire out. I finished it with paste wax, but it’s a little rough. I only had 120 grit paper at the time and just wanted to get it done. I’m going to be making a replica at some point, hopefully it will be a little more polished and refined.

Your next one may look like the first but I’m sure it will be better. You always think of things you would do different if you do it again. Maybe next time you could use an outlet with USB plugs in it.

It looks fine as it is and I’m not too sure that using pallet wood and refining would make it better. I have thought that pallet wood was supposed to have a rustic appearance when assembled into a piece of furniture but that’s jmho

Good Job !

Nice job Jordan.
That first project came out better then mine.
Your use of pallet wood makes me smile.
I also like the addition of the electrical outlet.

Nice work.

Thank you, I guess I would just want it to be more square next time.
