After the disaster that was my first bowl, I was determined to do better. I turned two bowls out of green apple wood. I got more comfortable with the bowl gouges, and had fewer catches. I decided to try another dry bowl. I laminated a piece of sycamore to a chunk of maple. I was happy to find out there was some spalting in the maple.

I used a globe shape for this bowl, which added the challenge of scooping out the inside around the outer curve.

The bowl is finished with danish oil and buffed.

For only your fourth bowl – that is amazing. I like the grain structure, shape of the bowl and the finish.
