I was able to work out a swap for tons of cypress board. I built the lumber supplier in a smaller area of our state a couple chairs in a trade for the actual cypress, enough to build 4-6 chairs. I ended up building my gate with some of it.

My actual customer wanted bright lively colors shown above which turned out great.
As for my lumber supplier, he is a great guy and has used his chairs for a couple years now. Every time we drive by his place, I see two of the bright chairs sitting down by the lake on his property. Glad they are getting used.

I used Norm Abram’s plan which is free online at popular or fine woodworking (one of the two). There is also a corresponding video on YouTube you can watch to get pointers on how to build them if you choose. Do so at your own risk of course. Practical and long lasting. Fun to build and use.
