This was Kenny’s anniversary present to me, which I am and always will be absolutely amazed by, every time I look at it! (It reminds me of something that wouldn’t look out of place in a Dr. Seuss book.) I’m using it as a pencil holder now, although I did try it out with my woodburning pens and makeup stuff. Much better on my desk, within reach (and sight). —maureen. PS: The woodburned quote is from a book of short stories we both loved reading.

I Love it. Great job and Gift.
Happy Anniversary.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

That’s a really interesting looking pen holder for sure. And lots of sentiment behind it too! Reminds me of this odd shaped paperweight I had to work with when we were on home packing services call last week. I couldn’t make out what it was, but it meant a LOT to the owner who wanted it triple bubble-wrapped before moving!

This from Kenny:
“Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments! I feel so proud right now, what with all the compliments from the people who matter, i.e., woodworkers! (I’m walking on air!)
Candy, you said, “That says ‘Touch Me!’”, which I think is particularly cool, and Thank You! That’s one of the things I’m always going for—especially after I saw one of Andy Campbell’s projects and read [something to the effect] that his inspiration comes from nature and the contours in nature, which invite touch.
Andy’s work has been inspiration for my sculpted boxes, and Lois Keener Ventura’s designs have been inspiration for my bandsaw boxes. This project was a combination of both, as I was trying to push my own work to the next level. (I’ve already got another one in mind. It’s all in my head, at the moment, but it’s going to be a sculpted jewellery box / bandsaw box combo, made with western maple…)”
And when it’s done, I promise to post it here, eventually… ;-)
