This is a project I completed a couple of years ago about the time I did my “scrap box”. It too is made using scrap hickory. Not a lot special about it except the little piece of hard tubing I use to hold the edge guide in place when I turn the holding screw. I did this so I wouldn’t scar up the shaft with the screw. You can see the hard tubing and its location in the last two photos. I got the tubing at the hardware store, it was a bushing in the screw and bolt section. The metal pieces were likewise purchased at the hardware store.

Thanks, Steve. I looked at your Morrison cradle. One of my unfinished projects is his rocker. I started it in Wisconsin before I had my bypass surgery and have since moved to Texas where I am doing an extensive remodel on a 40+ year old house while living in it with my wife and dog. My wife insists that I complete her kitchen before I look at another project of my own…go figure. You would think she would be happy eating out every meal!
