From 3 doors to 1 desk. All doors found in a barn. Two 4-panel doors that were pulled from and old house and tucked away in a barn. One door from a stall in the same barn serving as the top. Couldn’t bring myself to remove the hinges with the cut nails. Finished the top with spar urethane and the base was paint coated with wipe on poly.

Now that’s a great repurpose ,all it needs is a leather writing pad. Maybe a quill pen too!

Great idea and design! I really like how you combined the material and your layout of the pieces.

Good idea.
I like the old hinge left on the top, adds character

Beautiful desk.
When I was a kid (1972) I worked as an apprentice with a guy who did restorations and repairs on old Palm Beach (Fla) houses. I remember more than once when the lady of the house asked him to find her a nice big OLD desk for the remodel job. He’d buy these old doors and do much the same as you did here.

As a 20 year old, I was always amazed at how he’d spend somewhere like $60 for a few old doors at a construction recycler and re-purpose them into a beautiful desk. The real interesting part to me was when the lady would be thrilled to get it when he’d tell her that because she was so nice, he’d give it to her for ONLY $1000 !

I like the fact you used old doors & also kept the old hinges on the stall door.

Thanks for sharing.
