First project I poste on Lumberjocks. I spend a lot of time for inspiration for a nice wine rack. This is the result, Im really happy with it. I made it from an old oak roof beam that lay outside in the mud for a year of two.

I like it! How’d you drill them big old holes?

Thank you!

I did burn them with my eyes!

I used a multipurpose hole saw, the tooth of that drill look simular to the ones on saw blades. Because the drill didnt had enough length, I had to remove the waste with a chisel to become deeper, deeper and even more deeper.

Great job! In the picture it looks like some of the bottles are slanted downward – Is that just the camera angle? If it is not the camera angle what keeps the bottles from sliding out?

Thanks for sharing and Welcome to Lumberjocks!

@Leafherder, they are horizontal but it was hard to drill them exactly straight. on the picture they look more downwarded than in my livingroom. However, when i lift/move the wine rack, i have to take care to prevent the bottles from fallling out. The contact between the bottle and the wood is small and smooth.
