Project Description
Building these stoppers have been a lot of fun for me. Each design element allows for a number of alternatives by using different species of wood or in this case changing the shape of stopper #1. Considering that each stopper takes 3+ hours to build and turn, I enjoy knowing that no two are the same.

Stopper Stats:
  • Total pieces: 121
  • Primary wood: Walnut
  • Secondary wood: Red Leaf Maple
  • Tertiary wood: Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry)
  • Cap: Sapele
  • Dimensions: 2-1/8” tall, 1” diameter
  • Finish: CA/BLO

Other segmented wine bottle stoppers I have created and posted here at Lumberjocks

Beautiful Stopper!

I see you were able to work out the problem with the ridge on the top of the newer stoppers.

Great work. Methinks they ought to start at no less than $75.00

thanks guys.
I’m just about to finish a couple of Adirondack chairs so I should be able to post something that’s not a bottle stopper this week!

...but then it’s right back to it. and since I’ve had some time to think of some new techniques, I hope to keep the upcoming posts interesting!
