I haven’t posted here in a while with the new home/shop. Looking forward to it again.
Here’s an 8/4 Walnut Table with 2 extension 12” each (not pictrured) to make it 78” or 54” without.
Rockler wood extension systemhttp://www.rockler.com/extension-slides-20-length,
No pins were added and works perfectly. Waxing the track
is a big help but unit worked pretty good before waxing. I always show clients how to operate
and to take it slow when opening or closing. If it’s something you do twice a year…take time
not to break it is my thought.
Hairpin Legs were used which I've been getting great results and customer service from these guys:
Finish: Boiled Linseed, Poly & Terpentine 1/3 blend 8 times diminshing Linseed oil & solvent
towards end. It’s not the highest safe top coat but my clients really wanted the walnut to show
it’s beauty so the best way I know how to bring that out is the old Sam Mallouf finish blend.
I garauntee all my work and make contact with clients throughout the year to see if everything
is ok. I make house calls to see my babies and do up keep from time to time and I haven’t seen
the last of this one but it’s good to visit.
Sorry not many pics.

Such a beautifully smooth, clean-lined piece. Very mid-century…
Would like to see an overhead shot to show off the grain and movement of that fine wooden top.
