This handsome Box is made of Padauk. The Lid is composed of several dozen carefully-fitted pieces of various Woods on a Plywood substrate. The inside is lined with Walnut Burl Veneer. It was recently purchased. It was my favorite. I’d love to build another like it – not identical (everything’s OOAK). I probably won’t, though, unless someone asks me to. It was a heck of a lot of work, and I enjoyed it. It’s just that I’m sure my enjoyment of making another will be manifestly magnified if I may know up-front that someone wants it. It’s basic pattern is after a plan in one of the WW Mags.

All the boxes you posted are real nice and obviously you have put a lot of work into them. I like this one as the pattern stands out and can see why it sold. Nice work on all boxes Mark, this comment covers them all, well done.

These are boxes I made over the last 5 (?) years. The latest one is the first one I posted, and that almost a year ago. I’ all over the lathe now. (Except for the thing I PMd you about.

I was envisioning the floor in the entryway to the Venetian in Vegas whil I was making this. If you ever walked on it, you know that is hard to keep one’s balance if one is looking at the floor while walking. Hence, the name.
