I am currently making the writing desk I wanted to make for 20 years but never had a place for it in my house. This desk is around 160cm wide and will be made of hand planed maple. The table top is glued-up strips of stock around 30mm*40mm and will require lots of planing to get and even surface.

Since I very much appreciate the elevated work with my moxon vise on the bench, I decided to make a smaller version which I can install when I need to clamp pieces larger than around 1m.

Luckily, this vise can also serve as a standalone mini moxon vise with a single handle and has never been removed since the first installation :-)

Looks like a handy set up.
