I built this saw bench based on the design by Tom Fidgen. Most of the bench is cherry, but the horizontal stretchers on the legs are Sapele. All of the wood was scraps I had in the shop. The entire project was done with hand tools. I used hide glue that I mixed myself – a first. Thanks for looking.

Clean work, Sir. Are the holes in the top for holdfasts? Do they work in thinner stock?

Todd: The holes are for the Veritas surface clamps that work in thin stock. There are also holes on the 90 degree legs for the same purpose.

Nice Walden. I don’t know what you were sawing on before, but I’m going to put my money on this being a lot better.
