This is my take on a modern style veneered table. Originally I was going to leave it as solid maple, but it started looking like a cutting board with legs, so I decided to use some grain matched walnut veneer. It was a happy accident… though the size of this table made it difficult to apply the veneer around the tight curves. Finished with Zinssers Clear Shellac (two coats) and Johnson’s Paste Wax. It all worked out in the end. Enjoy!

fixed the photos… they were all sideways. Should be ok now.

Freaking bathroom reading table! How awesome!
One of my big brags in life is that I finished Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead entirely in the bathroom.
Now, that might speak more to a bad diet than anything else, but I’m definitely going to make one of these for myself.
It’s a beautiful piece.
