This project was requested by my wife. Her Grandmother received a Christmas tree stand on her first Christmas over 100 years ago. The original was built to hold a live tree but this one is used for a fake tree. It took me over 30 hours to complete this but I think it is much nicer then the original. I built this one so that the top floor is removable to save weight when moving it from storage and to allow my wife the ability to decorate easier. I started with two 3/4” pieces of plywood cut 27 X 27 for the base. The cabin is 19 X19 with the roof line at 21”. Each log is 1” wide which I made by using a round over bit in the router then cutting them to thickness on the table saw. It was a fun project to do, hope you enjoy it.

All sorts of charm built into this little cabin. And great idea for a Christmas tree stand. Your wife has to love this!!!

-- I just got done cutting three boards and all four of them were too short. (true story)

Have your say...
