Having just completed the Shop-Vac Dust Collection cart, my sights turned to the biggest dust/chip maker in the shop, my 2nd-hand veteran Grizzly planer. When I picked up the planer last year, I was handed the Ridgid adapter as a “maybe you can get this to work one day” add-on gift. I made a few cuts and customizations on the bandsaw to the hood, and used some leftover 3/4’ MDF to mount the hood to. The difference is pretty astounding, almost ZERO chips eject out of the outfeed side, the only non-collected chips are few and far between and come out of the infeed side. Really pleased with the results this project.

I used specific part numbers above in hopes of catching some search engine eyes and directing other owners of this planer to this idea.

Would you happen to have the part number for the Ridgid vac adapter? I have the same planer and have been looking for something just like this.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you.
