This follows on style and material wise from the dining table I built last month for mum – two major pieces of furniture for her, and one for my sister this year and… none for me :(
This is the first ‘occasional’ table I’ve built, and in Australian parlance, “its built like a brick @#$ house”. Many dominoes, much bracing. Initially I wasn’t a fan of the styling of this (and the dining table), but its starting to grow on me. However, baskets? Full extension drawer slides or make it a cupboard, in my book!
The clock thats on top of it is a coolibah burl clock I mostly built for Christmas. She could never decided if it was hanging or being on a stand, so I still haven’t taken care of that. The contrast of the two timbers is nice though, so I might have to turn a nice vase out of a similar coloured wood.
