Re-worked caplock pistol

I got this pistol from my sister one fine Christmas, and she shot decent but the handle felt more like a 2X4 than a pistol. So, I reworked it to more suit what a pistol looked like back during the time that these were the highlight of gun tech. Well, a fancy one, at least.

Nicely done, that certainly raised a nice piece to a beautiful piece.

Nice job! Your “before” pic reminds me of this little gem I have. Back in 1976 we moved from Fla to GA where my father-in-law bought a Western Auto Store. Our original inventory included a 12ga shotgun which was some kind of anniversary edition. Didn’t seem like anybody wanted to buy it, so I took it home and made it into a pistol.

I called every law enforcement agency I could find a phone number for and found out just what the legal specs were. The barrel had to be a minimum length and the overall length was also regulated. This baby is 1/4” over the legal limit on both counts.

In all these years I have only fired it a grand total of 5 times, and each time it has almost ripped my thumb off :-) (Yeah, I’m a slow learner)...

Yes, I know I ruined a perfectly good shotgun, but hey, I was “young-n-dumb” so there’s no accounting for smarts at that age!
