This is the first of 48 identical platters that I am making for a special order. Platters will all be turned from Ash and are 12 inches in diameter. Finish is food safe butcher block oil. I cut templates out of 1/8” hardboard to make certain that each platter is the same. All the blanks are roughed out on the bandsaw and then turned to shape. All the blanks have some beautiful ripple figure in the grain.

47 more to go. Great job. That wood does have some flash to it.

Any woodturner can create one original piece. It takes skill to duplicate that piece and alot of skill to do it 47 more times.

That is a nice platter, Jeff. I am sure that, like doing any repetitive operation, the adrenaline rush from completing the first platter will start to wear thin long before the last one is finished but I am sure they all will look just as good as this one does.
