I engraved a Bison silhouette with a bison skull into the butt stock of this 30-30 rifle. I wanted to add history to the historic Winchester 30-30. The American buffalo seemed to work very well on this rifle. On the other side of the butt stock I engraved the registered brand of the gun owner. This is now a piece of art the gun owner can be proud of.

You are an amazing artist. Love the tracks, too. I’ve always liked the 30-30 – I’ve got one. But I had no idea they could be this beautiful.

A beautiful piece of art work.
I admire your talent very much.
I bought a book on gun stock carving, years ago, but I have never tried it yet.

Well I got a bunch of guns you could practice on Dick if you can do this good. This is amazing work like I’ve never seen before. Great work.

You all are to kind. Thanks for the compliments. I really love this work, and my goal is that it shows in the results.
Dick, if the book you are referring to is the one by Bill Janney it is one I have and a tremendous help when learning this skill.
