My boys needed a sandbox and my parents volunteered to buy the supplies as their birthday present if I’d build it. So here it is. I am trying to keep a Greene & Greene style throughout my backyard so,even on something as simple as a sandbox, I’m trying to incorporate their signature rounded finger joints. I placed 3” lag bolts in each of the spots you’d expect an ebony plug in fancier furniture.

Nice work! My brother and I had a sandbox when we were little. It looks like he’s having a lot of fun and he’s got a whole fleet of rolling stock and earth moving equipment so he’ll be able to move lots of sand for hours at a time.
