Here are some finished pics of a bedroom set I have been working on since Nov of last year. It is made from sapele and quilted maple, with all the panels being sequence matched and custom pressed by Indiana Architectural Plywood. Every panel of sapele is from the same log and all the door panels are paired and matched 4a quilted maple. My client wanted art deco styling, to be surrounded by wood and for everything to be polished to high gloss. Over 7 gallons of lacquer was sprayed on this single project.

There ended up being 11 separate pieces of cabineture, three with fully arched tops and featuring 19 dovetailed drawers. The drawer pulls were custom milled by SA Baxter, a bespoke hardware company in NY.

All the hardwood for the doors and trim is quarter sawn sapele.

The home owners and I are very pleased with how this project turned out.

Thanks for everyone’s kind words. I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to work with such lux materials and did my best to showcase them.

Just wanted to share this rare commission.
