As the warm weather approaches I needed to make more insulated beverage holders again. This time I wanted to make a top for a few to keep the bugs out and to see if they kept it cooler. It was a success. No bugs flying around and my beer kept a heck of a lot colder than before. Even on those hot sunny days the sun won’t be heating up the top of the beverage any more. Made from logs with a urethane finish.
The barrels have become the popular one now but I try to keep making different styles.
Thanks for looking. Bottoms up.

Well done Dave. I bet those will sell like hotcakes. I just might have to give this one a try.

Nice can insulators. I was just planning on making one.
How much clearance did you leave for a can?
I was thinking about using only dry wood so it would not warp out of round, too.
Cheers, Jim

Hi Jim. I hollow it out 1/8’’ larger than the can and use the foam insulator to give it a snug fit and help keep it cool.

Hi Lee, thanks buddy.
Hi Jay. They are always the talk of the party. And a good way to sell them.
Thanks Marty.
Hi Joe. Thanks for the comment. They are easy to make and a heck of a lot of fun. Get that lathe ready to roll when you get it. I remember when I got the new lathe I could hardly sleep I was so excited.
Thanks Adartur.
I wanted to show a picture of the foam insulator. It holds the can in and helps keep it cooler.
