Nice job.
Good luck practicing new hinge and latch techniques. As I see it, boxmaking consists of three major parts:
1) the actual woodworking
2) installing hardware
3) the finish
No matter how great a job you do on #1…. #2 and/or #3 can ruin it for you. :-)

Yes, Charlie actually #3 is the key. I actually have more to learn there than #2! I like your “credo”...have lots of “kindling” as a result!
