This was an old one, but my first foray into furniture, Did the frame mortise and tenon out of pecky cypress laminated to solid cypress, and then the herringbone pattern was just hundreds of 1.5”x3” dominoes out of plaster lathe laminated on to birch ply. It was originally going to be a more rustic reclaimed piece, but I tried some oil on some test pieces and then tried to match the cypress

That looks like a lot of work, but it certainly turned out nice!
