I’ve finished up a few big projects recently and have been diligently saving the leftovers/scraps and have resolved to start working through the stock. After finishing a day bed for friend, I had 3 12”x96” boards of nice walnut plywood and so it seemed like a bookcase was in order.
The front edging was also made from leftovers from the day bed, and I dressed up the side panels with faux rails and stiles made from resawing the edges of a 12/4 board I’ve had in the shop for more than a year. That let me get the really nice straight grained boards.
I think this was the first project where I estimated doing it in a weekend and actually finished it in that weekend.
